Licensed Massage Therapist and RYT-500 Yoga Teacher
A graduate of Troy University, with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and minors in Psychology and Business, Karen is also a 750-hour Massage Therapy graduate from the accredited WellSpring School of Allied Health in Kansas City, MO. Her externships included working at an assisted living facility as well as the Kansas City Hospice House of Kansas City, MO.
A Missouri Board Licensed Massage Therapy Practitioner, Karen is a member of the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP) and became Board Certified with the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) in 2011. Board Certification is a credential designed to represent the highest standard in the field of massage therapy, setting apart massage therapists with advanced experience and education in the field. Board Certified practitioners are also required to be CPR certified and have passed an extensive background check.
Karen is skilled in a variety of massage techniques including Swedish, deep tissue, reflexology, sports and Thai massage. She believes in the body's ability to heal itself and that massage therapy is one of the many paths for restoring health and wholeness to the body. Her massage sessions are designed for her clients’ wellness in promoting healing, relaxation, stress reduction and recovery from muscle injury and soreness.
